Living Through Learning is currently running three main projects which focus on foundation phase learning as well as matriculants, they include:

Based on empirical research in the education field, the foundation phase is a crucial level in a learner’s school career. In order for learners to succeed in their schooling and to achieve their dreams in life, they need to be able to read and write.

The focus of the capsule project for 2019 has been narrowed down to specifically improve literacy and numeracy within three schools (St Augustine, Sonwabo Primary and Vergenoegd Primary). LTL in collaboration with Coronation has partnered with PSP (Primary Science Programme), the Principal’s Academy, CAP (Community Action Partnership) and Global Teachers on this project. The various partners strengthen the holistic approach that this project aims to achieve.

We run a holiday programme during each holiday for a period of a week. Seven of our facilitators each select a school and between 20 and 40 of their weaker learners to attend the holiday programme.

STEP 4 Programme

It is an innovative training programme for recently graduated educators. The idea for the programme emerged as a result of years of training school educators in classroom management and up-skilling their techniques.
